Hi,

I have a son who due to various brain tumors has lost the use of his hands etc. What I would like to do is have an ebook reader like Calibre controlled by his voice, mainly open a book from a list and turn pages, either forward or backward, and possible open and close the program. I know that this will require programming of some sort, and any help you can supple would be greatly appreciated.

If Calibre has keyboard shortcuts for those functions, we should be able to create a VoiceBot profile for it. We'll investigate further and keep you posted :)

Thanks!

Keith,

I've found two more ebook readers with keyboard control: Ice Cream eBook Reader, and SumatraPDR reader. Either would server the purpose, along with Calibre.

Thanks

I'd like to thank Keith for supplying me with a profile for the Sumatra ebook reader, which has allowed my son to flip the pages of an ebook using voice commands.

It's struck me that the same thing should be possible using an android tablet, more suitable for reading; in this case all that would be needed are voice commands to 'tap right' or 'tap left' to either advance a page or go to a previous page. I don't seem to be able to find a background android app for this purpose. Basically I'm looking for a voicebot for android screen taps. Anyone?

Thanks
